I was only 9 years old when I came to know Christ as my Savior. So I really don’t even have lots of memories of my life before Christ. But I do know that for many years while knowing my salvation was secure, I still lived a very selfish and lonely life. I went to church sporadically and really had no real love for Christ or awareness of how my life could be different. Because of this I spent many days depressed, sad, and defeated.
About 8 years ago, I decided to seek out a Bible study at our church. I was introduced to a Beth Moore study called “Living Beyond Yourself.” Because of this study, I spent time for the first time in life really studying the Bible and really praying. I learned so much about the victory God desires for us to have while still on earth. Awareness of the Holy Spirit and the power of prayer has been an incredible gift to me.
With Christ, all things truly are possible. I no longer battle depression, and the battles of this world no longer defeat me. I truly know and believe that God is always in control and He always wants what is best. God has been so faithful and so good. He has changed my whole outlook on life and has given me a purpose for living.
