Myra Hogan
I was very fortunate to be born into a Christian family. I have attended church regularly all my life. I grew up the oldest of four girls in a Pastor’s home. Being a Pastor’s daughter, I felt like things were alright in my life. After all, I was in church every time the doors opened. But I had never had a personal relationship with the Lord.
At the age of nine, while attending a revival service, I was confronted with the question of where I would spend eternity. I knew that I wanted to spend eternity in Heaven. I realized at that moment that it was not about being born into a Christian family, it was about being born into God’s family. This was about my personal decision about eternity and my personal relationship with God. God began to deal with my heart and I realized my need for a Savior. I accepted that Jesus paid the debt for my sins and that night I asked Jesus in my heart and accepted Him as my personal Savior.
As a teenager, I became involved in our youth ministry and more involved in studying God’s Word. I did not know what God’s plan for my life would be, but I asked Him to take control of my life. I claimed His promise in Jeremiah 29:11. God has blessed me by allowing me to work in full time Christian ministry. There are struggles daily in my Christian life as I grow, but He is always with me each step of the way. My desire is to serve the Lord and honor Him in all that I do. He is truly the joy and strength of my life.
