I grew up in church and was involved in many church activities. Even though I was very faithful in my attendance, there was still something missing in my life. I had already graduated from high school and from Spartanburg Technical College in the Dental Assisting Program. I had material possessions, and I even had my whole life planned out. A good job, planning a marriage, buying a house, and planning for children down the road were all part of my plan. I really thought I had my life together.

At the age of 20, I had a life changing experience. I realized that my way was not in line with God’s way. I was in pre-marital counseling with my pastor, Rev. Robert Dickard of Bethany Baptist Church in Gaffney, when I realized that I had never surrendered my life to Jesus as my personal Savior and Lord. At that time I prayed the sinners prayer and I asked Jesus to be the Lord of my life. I also followed the Lord in baptism at that time.

I know I have God’s forgiveness and eternal life. I can truly say that my life has changed for the better and I am so thankful for God’s assurance of peace in this life and the guarantee of Heaven when I die.
